My son and I were watching the movie "Happy Feet" and he fast-forwarded through the preview public service announcement about being a responsible consumer when it comes to eating certain types of fish as it was "boring" and "didn't apply to him"...what things have you as a parent or teacher or experienced as a student read, seen or done that drives the point home that things that happen in other parts of the world that may directly effect them personally in the present future, but can impact them later on and affects mankind as a whole now?

there was a good movie called barrakka (not sure of the spelling) very good, with this world perspective of humanity. kind of a documentary no words but it's edited so well with music that it tells a story. definitely worth a look.
