Bundy Clock are an old fashion thing you used at your work place. You had a card with your name on it and when you arrived at work and pushed the card into the bundy clock and it printed the current time on the card - you 'clocked in'. Similarly when you left at the end of the day you 'clocked out'. As to 'How can I straighten that out?' I think if you left work and didn't clock out you probably had to go to your boss and get him to sign your card. The paymaster uses the bundy card to pay your wages.

Clocking out is usually associated with time clocks at your place of employment, a device which records your time in and your time out.

You clock in when you report to work and clock out when you leave at the end of your shift. The time clock records your actual time in and time out.

If you forget to clock out that means the clock didn't record the actual end of your shift, and you normally straighten it out by telling your timekeeper when you left your workplace.

Some places of employement have a timeclock and each employee has his or her own timecard. At the beginning of their shift, they put the card into the timeclock and it stamps the time they started and at the end of their shift they do it again. That part is what is referred to as to "clock out" or to take yourself off duty.
