No, because celebrities live 'fantasy' lives. Not real lives like you or me. They need to have role models who will be around them all of the time to look after them, or someone they can look up to. Celebrities should not be role models for children. Its wrong.

That would depend on which celebreties. There are some celebs who I personally don't think are good role models, and then there are some who I think do a lot of good things. Plus then you need to take into account what the celeb would be a good rolemodel for, such as acting, music, art, literature...etc. I try to look at the whole picture and not just what shows up in tabloids.

Well, there are both good and bad celebrities, so it depends.
But personally I think there are many more people in our lives that can be better rolemodels rather than celebrities.

They are just people to doing a job like teachers,, policemen, postal workers, factory workers....... we can't draw lines for some & not for others. We ALL should be rolemodels for children, but we are all humans, not all the same.

We don't have much of a choice, unless you are way out in the boonies where there is no TV, internet or magazines. But some celebrities are a good role model and others aren't just, depends on who.

depends on the celebrity. Most of them are children with big bank accounts who are very bad influences but then you have your athletes and astronauts, etc. whom for the MOST part are usually (NOT always) good rolemodels

Absolutely not. Have you seen their behavior? Racist remarks, anti government speech's, lecturing Americans for Green house gasses, while they fly private jets, own multiple, multi million dollar mansions, and 20,000 sq ft barns with industrial air conditioners for their horses. Scream gun control, but hire body guards that carry guns, etc..etc.. The very thing that makes them good actors, is that they can separate themselves from who they really are and "become the part". They see themselves as a privileged class almost like royalty. The rules for the average person do not apply to them.

Someone like Kate Winslet and Cate Blanchett yes. Both are comfortable with their bodies and growing old gracefully, embracing motherhood, and yet managing to keep up excellent careers. Both also don't smoke...nor engage in partying ways, something so dreadfully apparent in hollywood right now.

Not, because most celebrities are not good role models to begin with. They think that because they are famous, they can get away with doing more crap than most others. Everybody has their flaws, but celebrities get those flaws made very public.

Yes i think that they should,Cos a lot of young folk look up to them,And the celeb themselves are getting paid a lot of money and without the younger fans they would not be celebrates...
