It is the salt coming out of the bricks. Unfortunately there is no way of removing it you have to just let it all seep out and then Wash away by the rain.

It.s called effflorescence!
It's caused because the bricks were too wet at some stage of the building process & its the salt coming out!
You can't get rid of it - it will keep recurring, but will disappear of its own accord after a few years (quite a few, actually, maybe 10+ )

ref salt coming out of bricks or block paving you cant stop it , if you do use acid or a jet wash this can damage the surface . I have just laid a block paved drive and salt has come out under a porch where the weather cant get to. , this may be because the normal weather conditions cant wash the salt off

Leave it, the bricks will tone down after a while, its not a problem.

salts, as otheres have said.

To be hoenst, it'll made your house blend in more and look "settled" rather than new.

If its really old brickwork, it could be rising damn but i wouldn't overly worry about it.

If you come across someone with a moisture meter, get them to check the wall.....no rush.

Hi,

I was in the hardware store yesterday and noticed that the person before me was buying a bottle of brick wash.

You apply to the outside of the house and its cleans brick.

So it might be worthwhile you taking a trip to your local ironmongers.

hope this has been of some help.

As the man says it's efflorescence which are salts within the bricks and are brought out whenever they are wet and dry out. Go on to D.I.Y Doctor(use your search engine) and it will tell you about treatment.
