You don't mention your age. Our zoo here in Jacksonville accepts volunteers at age 14, my daughter worked there as a volunteer for almost 2 years, loved it!!! Where else would you get a chance to play with a wolf???? They used her as bait when they had to give the Nile Crocodiles a shot, I wasn't too happy about that...
You can volunteer at your local humane society or animal shelter, you can bring your pet to children's hospitals or to visit the elderly. Our Herp society brings animals to our local Children's Museum once a month, and we bring reptiles to schools and libraries as well. There are so many things you can do, and so much fun you can have!!! Hold a neighborhood "pet wash" and donate the proceeds to your local animal shelter. School children all over Florida help baby sea turtles across the sand and into the ocean without falling prey to seagulls!Let your imagination soar...

That is sooo awesome!! You can either ask for a job at a pet store, animal shelter.Or volunteer at one.Do you knit or crochet?I have made 3foot x 3foot,and some 4foot x 4foot rugs, that I donated to shelters in my area.So the animals have something to sleep on instead of just the floor.Call the shelters near you,and ask what types of help is needed. Then do what you can. Some of the shelters have told me,that they will keep my rugs to send home with an animal when it is adopted.Hope this helped.

A donation to the SPCA in your area would be fantastic. Also, you might want to check with them about volunteer work available.
