Yes, I do. When I was younger I thought I knew it all, but as I get older I realize I don't.
I now know that there are people who have lived through things I can only imagine, and I can learn from them, and all I have to do is take the time to listen.
I used to roll my eyes when they would talk about the war, and what they did to survive, but now I listen and have come to realize what brave, wonderful people they are. In talking to them I have come to appreciate where I come from, and the advantages they gave us kids by emigrating.
Is everything they say a golden nugget to treasure? No, but if you don't take the time to sift through the sand, you will never find the gold.

Yes, for sure!
Some of my most favorite people have been elderly. Their stories are amazing and their wisdom is unsurpassed.

I was blessed that my Grandmother was the supervisor of a nursing home when I was little and she used to take me all the time to visit. I was only about 3 years old, but my memories of that are wonderful. I felt so loved and cherished and as an added bonus, I was never "scared" of older people.

I always listen to them. The elderly are a lot nicer than a lot of other younger people. And yes, you do learn a thing or two from them.

It's my job to listen to people so yes I do at first I was not very good at concealing my irritation sometimes these folks are a bit long winded and I have a zillion things to do but out of respect I have now learned to put on a happy face and put my own crap aside and listen. Am very good at it often tell co-workers I am cranky and they are shocked apparently I have become very good at my concealing my emotions does that make me fake? Or just an extremely nice person?

Yes, I listen, yesterday I listened to an elderly man tell me he was a Jedi. He said he knew I didn't believe him, but he really was. I think he freaked out my daughter a little. He pulled out an old Rubik's cube from his pocket , scrambled it, and put it back together behind his back.
This is a true story and happened while we were looking at bikes in Target. lol. He was actually testing one out when we got to the bike section. "See I listened to him, and was polite, as well as my daughter was. " And they are smart too, he knew I thought he was off his rocker."
He just wanted to talk, but the Jedi thing was strange.

I take the time to listen to any person when they talk to me. I used to go out with my grandma and her sisters all the time. And I always listened to their stories. I think all people have some knowledge to pass along, sometimes you just have to filter through a lot to get it. And dodge a lot of touching.

Yes I take the time to listen to them, I like their stories and I noticed that all elderly people in my family and husband's family like to talk to me about their past.
I am thinking about the future, I'd be happy to have my grandchildren listening to me.
