He wants to bet me $150 that Miami will go further than Dallas. Sounds like a good bet to me but both teams have a lot to worry about. I would love to take his money, though.

Your friend is WRONG. (and so is answer #1)
Dallas will go to the Finals this year.
So will Detroit.
Do the math.... Dallas goes further than Miami, especially with D. Wade trying to come back too soon from a serious shoulder injury.
Oh, and by the way - What kind of PANSY gets hauled off in a wheelchair when they sustain a SHOULDER INJURY?
D.Wade blows.

This bet is risky because both teams are deadly in the playoffs (as seen last year). The only reason why this bet is risky is because the West has more depth in the playoffs then the east. Dallas will cruise to the western finals with ease and will face either the Spurs or the Suns.
Now that, that's done Miami will have major problems in the early rounds, in the first round (if the playoffs started today) they will face Lebron and the Cavs, and if they get through the Cavs they will have to face the Detroit Pistons. On top of that Miami has to rotate Dwayne and Shaq into the lineup, so they'll be shaky the first few games playing together. On another note, injuries for the Heat will play a huge role; Gary Payton is out for 3 weeks.
In my opinion take the bet!

Alright, here's the breakdown. Miami will most likely be a 4 seed, while Dallas will be the 1 seed.

1st round: Miami plays the 5 seed, most likely the Cavs.
Dallas plays the 8 seed, most likely the Warriors.
Dallas and Miami both get through, while losing 1-2 games. Miami has a tougher matchup though.

2nd round: Dallas either plays Utah or Houston (most likely Houston). Miami most likely plays Detroit.

Both teams can lose their second round series, but Miami has a better chance of losing to Pistons than Dallas does to the Rockets or Jazz.

Take this bet.

Miami, they have the talent to excel and they deserve to be in the Finals more than the Mavericks. Miami beat the Pistons and the Nets. While Dallas beat a San Antonio team at its worst in a few years and a Phoenix team that couldn't hit a shot. Miami will win it in 5.

Hm. Personally, I'm a little scared over the potential Warriors upset, given the record Dallas has against them.

If Dallas can get by that, it should be a downhill ride to the conference finals.

Miami, however, can lose at anytime. They have ticking time bombs in Wade and O'Neal; either can bring big nights, but both have a good chance of reinjury at any time, especially Wade.

I wouldnt take that bet, the Heat have a good chance. They're getting Wade back and any team getting a player like Wade back on their team for the playoffs are a dangerous team. If you're a Mavs fan, I wouldnt take it bro.. gambling can backfire on you trust me I live in Las Vegas I know this and have seen many sports upsets happen when somebody underrates a team and foolishly takes the bet just to lose in the end, If you want the Mavs to win it, dont risk taking the bet..

Well i think that the Miami heats will go far with or with out wade! but i believe that the Dallas mavericks are a good team cause they have good players on their team too but so does the Miami heats so it can go to which ever team in my opinion but it's not good to bet cause u can loose that money if they don't go thro but i believe the Miami heats will as long as wade gets back to his regular self and don't hurt his self badly with his shoulder but i believe that the Miami heats is doing very good with out wade i think they need to keep up the good work! and they need to help wade too sin he hurt his shoulder and they need to keep on doing what they where doing while wade was not there and continue to do that but they need to put wade in there too! and don't leave everything on wade and shaq and some other people!

Well odds right now are in favor of Dallas, Why? With the looks of it Miami has a lot of woes than they expected with the regular season nearing completion. Dwayne, simply their brightest star is nowhere his unconcious self than he was a year ago (I think last year he was even compareable to the mighty Jordan) at best I think he could be 70% (with the injury) and Shaq is showing his age not to mention injuries to key players down the stretch (Gary Payton and Udonis Haslem). Dallas is enjoying one of their best season just hope that they sustain their momentum coming to the play-offs or that they will not have any key player injuries coming in to the stretch.

your friend is right, Dirk cant close out a win. Shaq can steam roll his fat butt to the finals. Dirk is not clutch he always differs to lesser players. Bet on a winner go for the heat!
