Pete Carroll always has one of, if not, the best chance with his level of talent that he has. The team will be led by a defense with 10 returning starters. It's a very SCARY defense, with maybe the best front 7 in the country and a young, and good secondary.

Mark Schalbach (ESPN analyst) is predicting a title game between Carroll (USC) and Rich Rodriquez (West Virginia).
Both are good picks, but they overlook Urban Meyer at Florida. Even though Florida won last year, and Chris Leak is gone, Meyer has Tim Tebow taking over at QB, who is better than Leak. Especially considering that Tebow played quite a bit last year, his adjustment to full-time starter will not be as extreme as say, Clauson at Notre Dame (Charlie Weis).
Other big names, like Tressel (lost a lot of players), Saban (not gonna happen), Paterno (umm, no), Carr (a pretty good darkhorse pick), and a host of others (Once again, the SEC will be the best conference, see LSU (Les Miles))
So, there is no answer to your question, but I can see Florida and West Virgina being the two best teams, and considering what Meyer has done with Zook's players (including what he did at Utah and Bowling Green), he is the best coach in college football.

Rodriguez at WVU or Carrol at USC. Both will have a powerful offense and return almost all of their starters from last year.
USC is deep at almost every position with experience. But, I think they will find a way to lose somewhere.
WVU has the fastest backfield by so far it isn't even close. They have 3 outstanding very fast RBs and 1 very large, fast fullback. They have 3 outstanding QBs who could start at almost every major college. And, they just added the best high school RB in the country who will be at WVU this summer. Also, they will not have to play AT Louisville.

Pete Carrol with USC. They have starters from last year returning and that offense of theirs is going to be very good. Now that they have a defense they can be a scary team this year. Especially with many schools losing their big names in the draft.

Pete Carrol. He took USC to an 11-2 record in a rebuilding year. Also USC has the name and glamour to stampeed the poll voters.

I would have to say Urban Meyer and the Florida Gators. Right now Florida is just hot and I really think that would be incredible to see Basketball and football go back-to-back. GO GATORS

Craig Kragthorpe - Louisville. As for the ESPN prediction, didn't Louisville beat WVU last year, should win again this year.
