Sadly, yes. But some of the old days were quite gay. A warm summer night, dancing in a fountain, toasting the moon with imported champagne...

It is not necessarily to "remember". In my ( I believe include yours )current dictionary ,the "gay" means: 1. homosexual. 2. happy. So, it is needless to remind it such a far long, long time ! It appears in front of your sight.

No.
Do you remember when 'gay' used to refer to a sexual orientation, instead of being a synonym for 'lame-o'? I do, but only just.

Words change their meaning. That's just what happens. Live with it.

Yep yep!!

was referring to homosexuals as gay ever a rude thing!? And then all of a sudden it was just what they're called??

We should fight to take the word back

yes! im not really old though just 19. Today when you want to call someone stupid or you don't like someone you may call them a "douche bag" or a "******" and im so SICK of people going OMG you cant say ****** thats offensive to gay people. ****** was never meant to mean homosexual nor was the word gay. They need to shut up and stop trying to take offense to the word ******. Unless someone directs the word ****** at a gay person they have nothing to be mad about. ANYONE would be mad if they got called a ****** so why would someone homosexual get mad at you calling someone else a ******? ****** does NOT mean gay and im sick of them claiming the word for themselves its ridiculous. if they don't want the word ****** associated with them then they need to stop bringing it up because htey're the ones that connect themselves to the word.
