We are thinking about getting two of them. How big of a tank should we get? My cousin has two in a 2 1/2 gallon bowl with live plants on the top. If you have them what do you feed them? Can they be in the same tank as gold fish? We are thinking of getting a big tank for all the fresh water fish and such.

Which type of African frog were you planning to get? There are African dwarf frogs and African clawed frogs. Both species are tropical, so they would do better in a heated tank than a tank with goldfish. The dwarf frogs stay small and can be kept with tropical fish, but the clawed frogs get to be the size of a baseball and will eat anything that they can fit in their mouths - including any fish in the tank with them!

This link will take you to a web page for African dwarf frogs and how to take care of them. There are links within the page to go to a care sheet for African clawed frogs, and a page on how to tell them apart. http://allaboutfrogs.org/info/mypets/dwarfs.html
