I don't mean to say that she was a political Liberal, but she was certainly on the side of the poor and needy of society. So, do Conservatives think badly of her?

Mother Theresa was a very compassionate person.
Therefore most conservatives would probably call her a bleeding heart commie lib.

Why would Conservatives or anyone think badly of Mother Teresa? She was the ultimate living example of charity and humility of modern time.
Are you insinuating that Conservatives don't care about the poor? I ask this because that is a popular fallacy among the misinformed and a lie used among rabid liberal talking points. Of course we care about the poor and are FOR gov't programs that help the poor. Look at www.ssa.gov and see all the programs available to the poor. We are also for cracking down on those who exploit the system, as their fraud ulitmately hurts those who are truly needy.

I am a Conservative and I think very highly of Mother Teressa of Calcutta. I would not want her running political office in my country, but she was a kind and loving human being. I have nothing but good to say about her. She is the type of person I would want my foreign aid going to help instead of dictators like Chavez or Kim.

Are you saying that conservatives would place Mother Teressa lower on your scale simply because she sides with the poor and needy of society? I know a few conservatives and I think you should maybe actually talk to them and see why they have different views than you. And vice versa to them.
I'm tired of both sides hating the other for reasons invented in their heads.

Mother Teresa is the antithesis of a modern day liberal. And she has nothing to do with the conservative party.
She is a rare individual who placed the needs of others above herself.
She has inspired me to sponsor 3 children.

What does Mother Teresa have to do with politics and policy making. What a terrible argument you're trying to make. Have you ever heard of a red herring?

yes I know its hard to understand but conservatives are not anti poor we just think the government shouldn't take their 60% cut of the money that is supposed to go to the poor.
edit: its the way they go about it. Big government and more bureaucracy just adds more red tape and more money off the top. as well as the federal govt has no control over regulation (see Katrina debacle) states, religious centers and homeless shelters (more specific local centers) can regulate to make sure the people who really need things and are really trying to better them selves are getting the money they deserve. not some low life who lives on the bloated bureaucracy

At the non-political end of things. With Jesus.
It is the Liberals who confuse religious charitable works with politics.
And as a Conservative who spends most of my waking hours working with the poorest of our society, I really resent that stereotype, I've gotta' tell ya.

Conservatives probably don't think badly of her. They just don't care.
In all likelyhood, they simply never think of her at all.
