My cardiolgist told me to start taking fish oil tablets every day, so I did for awhile then started slacking. Now I have to go see him on 4/18 and explain why I stopped taking them. I just could never remember to take them.

Fish oil is rich in Omega 3 and Omega 6 fatty acids. These nutritients are very valuable to the body, as they are also responsible for the cure of many diseases and syndromes. However, recently I found an article (in Wikipedia) that consuming too much fatty acids can be harmful to the body. See source for advised intake (The omega-6 to omega-3 ratio ). Omega-3 and omega-6 be consumed in a balanced proportion; the ideal ratio of omega-6:omega-3 being from 3:1 to 5:1.

.
No it doesn't. What it does is it improves the ratio of "good cholesterol" to "bad cholesterol".

When it comes to protecting cardiovascular health, raising our levels of good cholesterol is more important than lowering the bad cholesterol. As it turns out, simply lowering our bad cholesterol levels does not provide enough protection from cardiovascular diseases. You have to have high levels of good cholesterol. And Omega 3 fish oil has a positive impact on raising our levels of good cholesterol.

Of course, lowering our bad cholesterol will make sense too.

I hope you could find a way to make yourself remember. You could have it programmed in your alarm clock, in your celfone's appointment scheduler, etc.

Yes, it does work.
Think of something you do every day when you get up. Drink coffee? Put them by the cups. Turn on TV? Put them on the TV.
Shave/ put them by the shaving cream.

Good luck,,
