Depends vastly on the subject.

You can get online MS's from some very well known schools; University of Alabama, Michigan, Penn State, Indiana, Connecticut.

There's five, that offer an MS in something online, and I didn't even try that hard to think of names. But without some idea of the subject, I can't point you anywhere.

I ditto what everyone else has said about online schools. U. of Phoenix and its counterparts are not reasonable options for informed students. Penn State and some other universities are beginning online degrees, but I don't know if it in your area. You'll have to check that out. My feeling is that they are pretty expensive. Just taking an online course at an in state institution usually costs 15% more than the price for a traditional course.

First -- there are no good on-line MS programs. Most employers think that schools like University of Phoenix are a joke -- especially given their recent problems (e.g., the $9.8MM fine they had to pay for sleazy recruiting practices).

Second -- on-line universities are not cheap. They charge less than elite private universities -- but more than state universities (even the elite ones).

Go to a real school.
