The revenge would hurt both, but probably the person seeking the revenge most. If they got their revenge they might feel good for awhile, but the anger and bitterness that led to you wanting revenge can be toxic and the effects can be devastating to your spirit.

The person seeking revenge will get hurt more. The revenge seeker could get so caught up that they ruine their life, they can't eat, sleep, can't even function because their concerned with payback. Mean while the rest of the world is enjoying life. So while all of your energy is being waisted the target is living carefree, the score would never be even. Plus what goes around comes around, just let life be revenge enough.

Go ask has the right answer. The person seeking revenge is the looser of time and spirit. It takes a tole on your health. Mentally and physically to feel that kind of hate.
But if the person they take it out on could be hurt the same way if they go through with the revenge. The thing is. This said person doesn't think about it every moment of every day until it (revenge) takes place. They just go on with their life, la la la............ then SLAM it hits them upside the head!

I think it hurts everyone involved, although I have to confess it does give the revenger a little bit of a warm feeling for a while.

It can have the effect of extending the pain and hurt far beyond the simple offense which triggers the desire for revenge.

It can turn friends into enemies. It can split up families.

The best thing is to forgive, even when it means swallowing some of one's pride.

Easy to say. Very hard to do.

"before you embark on a journey of revenge, dig two graves"
-confucious

if you try and get someone back, you end up making your self look bad, losing respect, or going to jail.

so, unless you can pull off the perfect crime, you better just suck it up and be the better man.
