The U.N. was literally paid for by the U.S.A.. We supply most of their peacekeepers and funding. They've pretty much rubber stamped everything we've done up until the war in Iraq, which the last poll I saw said 65% of the American people don't support anymore. They went along with us for Korea, Vietnam, Grenada, and Desert Storm, but now all the sudden neo-cons make the claim that the U.N. is a dangerous leftist American-hating institution.

If Iran had invaded Iraq under false pretenses they would have been sanctioned, but when we do it we get a nasty letter. It pays to be a permanent member of the security council.

considering the anti-usa rhetoric that comes out of the UN, I would hardly call it a hijacked institution.

The USA should leave the UN. It was a bad idea to begin with, and it remains a bad idea still. It is more a joke than the League of Nations.

why is it when the UN proclaimed justice had arrived that the US wanted to make war....

When do we Canadians matter in this hemisphere. you aren't the conquering heroes you claim to be...You certainly aren't the greatest country alive you don't count as the greatest on the Continent.... take a look at your borders,,, they are shutting down like rat traps... take a look at your freedoms the only one you're gonna have left is the right to shoot each other... take a look at your so called free country.... have you been to Cuba lately? did you get your $10,000 fine? YOU CALL THAT A FREE COUNTRY. At this rate Russia and East Germany will have more rights than you. It didn't take Hitler that long to border up and take over and change Germany. and while I'm at it the next president better not be so arrogant as to call him or herself leader of the free world you can';t even keep your own people free... you are not a democracy you are a purchased society for the elete... don't dare claim to speak for me how truely UNDEMOCRATIC OF YOU... you still have that college electorate vote law that was put in place to prevent the black vote from counting... HOW DARE YOU AMERICA........AMERICA DID NOT MAKE WAR ON IRAQ ALONE IT MADE WAR ON THE WORLD AND YOU'D BETTER THINK TWICE BEFORE YOU START PUSHING IT FURTHER.... NOW YOU KNOW WHAT THE REST OF THE WORLD KNEW AND WHY WE DON'T LIKE AMERICANS... we don't need your policing.... you can't even run your own country leave our world alone....WE WANT PEACE...RESPECT THE UN WE WORKED HARD FOR IT...

Way back when the USA and the USSR created the UN after the second World War.
Since we were one of the original founders, we will always have a big say in what the UN does. But, that doesn't necessarily mean that the UN will always do as we say.

The United Nations Organization, exist because we the USA have provided the land, building, and more importantly the financial backing. You would think people such as yourself would be more understanding.

Afterall; where else in the world, could you go to another country and call their head of state: "The Devil"?

US never hijacked the UN. We are the ones who created the UN. So we are the leader of it.

They didn't.
Amazing how when the U.N. does as your ideology approves, the U.S. is a bad guy, but when it agrees with the U.S., then the U.S. is a bad guy.

Kind of obvious where you stand, isn't it? Kind of like watching a child tell you that your a bad parent because you won't give them a cookie, then calling you a weak parent because you gave in.

Can't win for trying. I think you've convinced us not to try to please you.
