I am 36 years old..It was "Rapture" by Blondie. that was the first to incorporate rap into a #1 song..Rappers Delight was released a few months before that but was considered hip hop.. Fab Five Freddy was in the video before he was even famous, and is mentioned in the lyrics...He helped her make the song and they were both released the same year.. No diss to SHG....
Trust me on this

The first recorded rap song was Rapper's Delight by The Sugarhill Gang, but given that the origins of rapping go way back before the bronx days (Jamaican toasting, african griots etc) it'd be impossible to work out the first use of rhythmic rhymed speech in a song.

There's a few from different decades. After the few, the Sugar Hill Gang did a couple, but the Beastie Boys started mainstream rap.

Bob Dylan's "Subterreanean Homesick Blues". (1965) A good 15 or 20 years earlier than Blondie or Sugarhill Gang.

That one by Debbie Harry from Blondie. Nobody knew the style was rap, at the time.
