When you consider mayors, councilpersons, state representatives, state senators, federal politicians, etc.
It is real simple. Take the ratio of how many people serve in the military, then take the ratio of how many people serve as politicians. Set against the control of the US population, the statistics reveal that the quantity of politicians with children in the military is congruent with the quantity of non-politicians with children in the military. Further, the quantity of those in the military serving in Iraq and Afghanistan set against the same ratio/control reveals that the statistical data supports no incongruency based on political/social status.

More than you think, I know of several on national, state & local level. Their families are still private citizens & can choose to serve or not. How many of your friends are serving? Same percentage.
