I want to leave my children with the knowledge that they are loved. I grew up in a very different family. I often wondered why my parents didn't love me. I never want my kids to feel that way. I tell them all the time, and hug them, touch their hair or backs. Just let them know they are special and important.
I also let them see my husband and I hugging and holding hands. If they get embarrassed I smile and tell them "Someday you will be happy you have parents that love each other."

I want to teach my son to be tolerant and respectful to everyone regardless of color or creed. I am half German and half Basque. My husband is Cherokee and Irish. My son is a "mutt" so to say. I want him to treat every single person he comes across with respect because you cannot judge a book by it's color. Acceptance is getting increasingly hard now a days and I want him to show the world that he is a man by just seeing a person, not their race.
