Hi, I am currently a 10th grader who is selecting courses for next year-11th grade, which is also the most important year of high school.
I was in debate my 9th grade year, then i don't have that class this year (10th grade), because when i was selecting courses back then, people around me kept saying that honor/AP/pre-APs were better choices, not only because they look good on transcript and they bring up weighted GPA. so as you are guessing, i filled my schedule with honor classes this sophomore year. And time passes by so quickly it is time to select courses again. but all of a sudden, i feel like i really wanna go back to debate, not only my friends are having fun going on competitions, also i have felt that my schedule has been filled with AP bio, AP chem, blah, blah, all studies, you know, but no fun, no interest. i really wanna add debate to my schedule, but on the other hand, it's 11th grade, the final grade college looks at completely, i do need a good GPA, what should i do?

There's no reason why you couldn't fill one spot with debate. Especially if you're having fun, you go on to competitions, etc.

While showing you took a very challenging courseload in high school is important, equally important is extra currics and developing a good relationship with a teacher who can give you a great letter of rec.

You'll likely get better grades overall if you have one fun class to keep you motivated. Instead of slogging through classes you may not have that much interest in.

You need at least a 31 to get into those any of those schools. And the courses you take don't matter, what grade you got does. You can take AP Biology and get an F and Guitar Music and get an A, all they'd see is that F. Colleges persuade you into thinking that they actually take the time to look at the billions of applications they receive when in reality all that matters is what grade you got, GPA, and ACT/SAT score. Good luck.

Honestly, have some fun. When you actually get to college you find out all that non-sense they say about AP classes getting you college credit, especially at institutions as prestigious as Harvard or Yale, is a bunch of baloney. Be serious and challenge yourself, but have one or two fun classes the next couple years.

I would say to have a little bit of fun and some time for study. I guess if you don't want to go back to school when you are over 30 years without a decent pay job, you would better off to do it when you are young. You will be able to enjoy it later.

If you are going into structure I could propose MIT. If you are certified for the ones colleges, then you definitely must be certified for MIT. Of path you do not ought to survive campus should you select to not. You can get an condominium off campus with peers and simply move searching to your meals and components. Good good fortune!
