i love schaub, but it's best for him since he'll be a starter, i wish him the best... but you have to have team unity and they are telling vick that he's got the reins.. hopefully he'll be great soon or royally screw up so we can get rid of him and move on.. who did we get? harrington/pennington? something like that.. didn't he play for the ducks?

i hate to see him go, but it kind of had to be done..

Yes. They also traded Brett Favre years ago. I thought he could have had a break out year with the Falcons, but they haven't opened their eyes and realized that Vick is among the poorest quarterbacks in the league and he can't outrun defensive backs any longer. Vick is a serious liability and until the Falcon management realizes this, they will continue to lose. Schaub will do well with Texas, and I don't think Joey Harrington is better than Schaub.

I would rate the trade a big success for the Falcons. They traded from an area of strength (QB) and helped themselves to improve in other areas. It is no secret that Michael Vick is the starter and back-up QBs are a dime a dozen, so the Falcons were in a win-win situation. The Texans on the other hand, are gambling that Schaub will be an improvement over Carr, but gave up a lot to get him. Schaub by the way, is the biggest winner in this whole situation since he goes from little used back-up to the starter and should get a hefty raise in salary.

THe Falcons didn't make a mistake, it was the best move any team will make this off season. Texans is the one that made the mistake, it wasn't Carr that wasn't producing, it was the offensive line. Schaub will be no different. The Texans will still lead the league in sacks allowed

Yes they made a big mistake. Vick has proven that he isnt a reliable quarterback. They should have kept Schaub and moved Vick to a new position like WR or something because he has the speed and moves. Now they have Vick as a starter and Harrington as a back up. In my opinion not a very strong quarterback situation in Atlanta.

Depends on what they got in return. Schaubb was only a two game starter and even though he can win games so can Joey Harrington. I believe the texans made a mistake with this trade, Carr is better than what he can do while getting sacked, I believe they should have kept Carr and tried to get a smart Oline not that ADD redundant Oline they have now which is making popwarner mistakes

Depends on how long he was prepared to hang around. I think the word was that he was off contract next year and was a big chance of leaving.

From what I understand, they let him go now so he could be a starter - but by doing it now they could get something for him instead of nothing next year and getting into a bidding war to have him soley as a backup.

Seems like a win for Atlanta, Schaub and definately for the Texans...

for the Falcons, yes, for Schaub no....he will be a starting QB, and able to show his skills, which will benefit the Texans...as for the Falcons..I dont think Vick will improve on or off the field...with or without Joe Horn!!!

I would say yes, except for the fact that the Texans gave up so much to get him, so I think it was a pretty good deal for the Falcons.

It was better for them to get something for him this year than to keep him around and lose him when he would have become a free agent at the end of this season. Now they can use the picks they got to improve in other areas. Joey Harrington will be a decent back up to Vick.
