if your christian, you don't have to answer this question. in fact i am looking for people's opinion who have the same question. that don't have a religion. I know that you folks who have religion and a god will argue. I want feedback, other ideas, ect.

In all things there must have been an author otherwise nothing would exist. And by whatever name you give this creature, authority or supreme being you can compare a little test.
If you as a being, per the bible, were created in his image - I know it's in there somewhere, I just haven't read it lately and I'm not a practising christian either, then you theoretically, should have some of his potential power and ability - and this does work out to be so.
For example - if you wish to be, do or have something you must first formulate that thought with yourself, get it straight on its looks, shape, size, etc and view it as to how it is possible out here in the real world. Then you go about bringing that thought into being. It didn't exist prior to that thought being made, but the work and existence of it before you show that it is done.
It is the name we give that "potential": some call God" - it's now come down to everyone wants to fool everyone else into believing they weren't responsible for the mess that has been produced - Earth. Hence you get this pointing of fingers that no bodies responsible for anything, except for this being called God - who made it all happen including the confusion you sit in right now, but how then can this thing called God exist when we can't even get agreement that someone is responsible for their own actions?

Wow! Big question!
God created the sun and the moon and everything that you see and dont see in this world. And yes I would capitalize his name. And if God created all things then He is the Almighty! It would be wrong to call him god.
I dont know why they say he, I dont really think he is a man persay but I believe that he created man first in his image so we as humans with our tiny little brains equate that God is a he.
Confusing I know. Faith is something that you cant see but you know its real. All the earth and all its creations, the heavens and all that are in it were created by something, someone. There is no way that all of this just happened. So I believe with all my heart that God created everything. So I have faith that God exists and is the ruler of all. I cant see him but I can see his creations which makes me believe that there MUST be a God!
Put it this way there is only one God who is creator of all. Everything else is an idol or false god. Read the bible it will answer all your questions. Most people cant believe that there is a one true God, and I believe its because our minds could never fathom all that God can do. And if we cant fathom it then we just cant believe in it.
Not sure if that helps or not. But I do hope that you find the One True and Living God that created you and loves you and knows every hair on your head.

People live in a sea of the spirit, yet they don't know what it is...just like a small fish asking an older/wiser fish about this thing called the sea...Fish forget that they live in the lakes & rivers, and some people forget that they too live in the magick that is the spirit.
Man can not discover new oceans until he has the courage to lose sight of the shore he knows.
You've asked a big question and my answer (such as it is this:) God is more than we can know, more than we are capable of adaquitly comprehinding...so any answer we come up with will be lacking...but that dosn't mean we should not try. So keep at it, your perspective will be just as valid as anyones. (little fish)

Well, IF there is a G[g]od, then how do we know what [he] or [she] looks like right? Well I agree with you, but then if you saw that forward that was around when the little boy asked his teacher about her brain and not being able to see it but still having it - - you would understand that you don’t need to see something to believe it. However, I would like to know as well, how do we know that stories of the Bible, Koran, Vedas, etc. are true, these stories were never written by God, but by prophets or so called divine followers, how do we know that they were not changed throughout history, how do we know that they are reliable and from “THE TRUE SOURCE”? We don’t! also, how the heck do we know that God is male or female? As Karl Marx said, “religion is the opium of the people”, they need to have something to believe in. Many if not most people live because of faith, if you take that away, they would probably all commit suicide. Sometimes it’s all that keeps people going. As for myself, I don’t know which I believe but do know that I question it every day of my life.
Another question to ponder, if we believe in evolution and science, how can we believe in God?

The word refers to any being which/who can manipulate the world and reality in ways humans cannot imagine themselves doing. At the extreme, a god or God is credited with originating the entire universe.
As Dent says in "Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy", "In the beginning, the Universe was created. This made a lot of people angry, and has been widely regarded as a bad idea. "

It's a good question with no real answer. Many people will tell you that their "God" is the only god, and that to question that is a sin, but how do you know for certain? And the only reason they believe in their religion is because they were taught it from birth by their parents or guardians. I'm not downing on Religion, by anymeans. I'm just answering with what I have come to believe is the answer to your question.

well first off the capitalization thing is due to the christian faith calling their god, God...and they use god as a name of an entity...a god however is a more widely used term to describe many beings of great and enormous power...and depending on the religion and the person...they can be entities without or concepts within...of course all this depends on whether or not you belief in any of these beings at all...

it is God. He is the Creator of all heaven and earth. You can't see love, but you can feel it. You can't touch the sky, but you know it's there. Think all the good things in the world, all the beautiful things, kindness and goodness, the caring heart, and the good things that you do, to help someone else, and the difference between bad things, wrong things, and lying, stealing, killing, etc. ."God is the goodness in your heart".
Think of it like this, you have good on one shoulder, telling you to do what is right and good things, and bad on the other shoulder telling you to do what you know in your own heart and mind is bad and wrong. like an angel on one shoulder telling you to do good, and the devil on the other side telling you to lie or steal, etc. When you do something wrong, you feel guilty, and your conscience bothers you. That's God letting you know. Goodness, is God.
Keep in mind, that everything you do good, comes back to you. If you do good things, good things will come back to you. if you do bad things, bad things come back to you. Just follow the good and know, that all the wonderful, and good things that happen to you for the rest of your life, you can know it is God and forever be thankful. You'll know and see God's love for you. Keep in mind, if you test God, He will test you. But if you seek Him, with all of your heart, you will find Him.
If you really want to know who God is, than just listen and watch for the good in people who believe in Him. Go to church. Ask yourself what it is that makes these people so happy and kind. Get a Bible, and read it yourself. Check out a Bible that is written in everyday english, and easy to understand. Search for the truth yourself. Then you will know.
And just pray. Talk to God like you talk to anyone else, even if you're not sure who He is. God Loves you very much, He'll hear you. He's just a breath away. God IS REAL!!!! . Just know that I'm praying for you right now, that God will show you the truth about who He is, and God always answers my prayers.

if you use a capital letter, yjen God refers to the a one DIVINE GOD that we Christians believe in
gods are deities that are fictional i.e. Greek mythology and Roman mythology
Why we believe in God is because He is real. Look at this, even atheist and non-believers tend to call on God when trouble faces them. It's instinct. im sure that you suddenly blurt out the words "O my God" when you are faced with something problematic or tragic
