Bacteria can produce bacteria, but I would call it adaptation instead of evolution, give it a few billion years and it's still the same, your not creating anything new. They made some bacteria that can eat nylon, but it is still bacteria, all they did was rearrange information that was already there, not create anything new, and all that did was prove it takes a designer to create anything.

It's easy to see evolution in short periods of time in bacteria because they reproduce so quickly. You can have 20 generations in a few days.

And evolution is adaptation.

The main reason is that bacteria can reproduce every 20 minutes under ideal conditions. Changes can accumulate rather quickly.
