"Hitler was a decorated combat veteran who actually got more votes than the other candidates when he was elected Chancellor in 1933."
I wanted to address this. At no time in history was Hitler elected chancellor. German chancellors are not elected; they are appointed by the head of state. And Hitler finangled his way into the chancellory through backroom deals with big business and the army, both of whom had Hindenburg's ear and told him it was okay to appoint Hitler, as they thought he could be controlled.
Also, the only time the Nazis ever got a majority of votes in elections was AFTER they had banned or dissolved several other parties. By the time this had happened, Hitler was already chancellor and was busy undermining the opposition with police power.

Well, you know, people compare George Bush to Hitler. And that's just not fair. Hitler was a decorated combat veteran who actually got more votes than the other candidates when he was elected Chancellor in 1933. That being said, he was a nut job. He was a megalomaniac. His biggest mistake, as a head of state, was NOT leaving military matters to the people (and Germany at the time had very good people - not just Rommel and Guderian) best trained to handle them. Hitler was insane, by any measure. But, compared to Stalin, or Mao, Hitler was a piker.

The German authorities because that WWII has in all likelihood performed more effective than the different to instil democratic values in its human beings. Germany has an admirable structure and an truly state-of-the-artwork voters. They honestly regard Hitler and the Nazis as a shameful element of their previous, yet i imagine for the hot era they experience it really is not any extra their duty than a present day day Briton's for the Empire, or an individuals for the dispossession and extermination of community individuals. There are some neo-Nazis round, yet some thing which promotes Nazism is illegitimate in Germany, no longer like the U. S. the position neo-Nazis flourish. the u . s . and Germany aren't from now on in elementary words at peace yet were NATO allies because the Nineteen Fifties.

He's was a meth addict and a failed artist with no grounds to be a leader. I can only assume he had no tactical education considering he broke two major rules of warfare, the first being to never engage Russia in a land war, and the second to never wage war on two fronts. His first speeches were horrendous, and only after schooling from a Jewish acting coach was he able to deliver the pithy speeches for which we know him. Although he did manage to bring Germany out of the depression, as promised, his ideas were Mephistophelian and puerile.

Great speaker, inspired many Germans but was a little screwy in the head to say the very least. In other words, one of the worst people in history.

He was one of the greatest monsters of human history. He was also a brilliant politician whose early accomplishments were marred and overshadowed by his hatred and insanity.
