Is it a violation of my probation to buy alcohol while on probation for drunk driving in the state of Michigan if I don't consume it? I was buying it for someone who was of age, but didn't feel like going out.

If you were ordered to not possess alcohol then you are in violation.

It all depends on your conditions of probation. If its ordered no alcohol, then that could be a problem. If you're on probation you need to pay close attention to your court orders and what your PO says.

One misstep can land you back in the hoosegow.

I'm not sure, but in most probation cases where alcohol was a factor, purchasing or possesion could be grounds for revocation. It's going to be a call on your PO's part.

If you're in doubt, check with your probation officer, or just don't do it. If the person is of age, they should buy it for themself and not risk getting you in trouble.
