i told my boyfriend i luved him and my sluty friend who has had a lot of experience started freaking out. it wasnt a big deal alls i said was"luv u". y is it a biggie?

We place a lot of emphasis and conditions on the word 'love' The I love you (in whatever form luv ya, lub you, etc) should only be used if you truly feel that way about the person. Your friend may be concerned that your boyfriend may not feel that way yet about you or that if you say it - he will be freaked out and keep away from you. Your friend may be concerned most likely that you will be tied down to your boyfriend or that she may not think too highly of him and may think that will be the key in increasing your relationship with him to a more intimate nature, if it is not already there. The other end could be that your friend had said it before and experienced a bad reaction or said it too soon and it lead to a sexual relationship that ruined the relationship/ ruined a purely sexual relationship... "Do not arouse or awaken love until it so desires"
