Both people are very happy, deeply in love, know that they can be with each other for an extended period of time and love each other without the need of constant sex or pleasuring (so you know it is not lust). The key is that you are both really happy, if there are issues that make the relationship suffer then that is no good. If you rely on sex or pleasuring one another to keep you together, that is also a big no no. It also helps for the two to be understanding of each other and love UNCONDITIONALLY! Once you get to that point and you are happy and the love is just a wonderful feeling MOST of the time (nobody is 100% perfect) then that is the ideal relationship for me. I am currently in that relationship sex free for 7 months and extremely happy, I love my gf to death. We are both 20 and I hope to marry her someday because this is the most amazing relationship I have ever been in.
Communication is also a big plus.

When you just can't wait for the other person to get home, wait for their call all day, or just can't wait to see them again. They can bring a smile to your face with their laughter. Trust, monogomy, & forgiveness. Together with the same man for 11.5 years married for 7, and am still very much in love and the relationship is still growing... good luck!

Intimacy in the relationship. I am not talking just about making love! I am talking about best friends, holding hands on a walk and it just seems natural! Sharing our lives without any worry of confrontation.

Good communication and expression of being appreciated and wanted, not only in words, but actions. Few issues, and many more good times than bad. If that doesnt exist I would think that maybe the relationship is going through a rough patch.

since the day i started dating my boyfriend and we began to get serious, i just had this feeling that everything was going to be ok with him, he just makes me feel soo relaxed and comfortable. my boy friend and i tell each other everything and therefore we have NOTHING to fight about except the small things and you cant sweat the small stuff, were just soo perfect for eachother, i love it. thats what a good relationship means to me.

For me it means that my husband and I still have a line of communication going. We feel like we can still talk about anything that is on our minds to each other and listen.

The most important thing is, you gotta be happy. So if ur happy, things are most likely going well. That's what it means to me anyway.

i guess it really comes down to what stage of a relationship your in...
in mine of over 5 years, i think it comes down to the little moments...a good heartfelt laugh together...agreement on some discussion of the set of values and morals we share...having sex even when one is really tired, and being very rambunctuos when in a good mood...communication is key i guess...
