In some cultures it is considered a compliment to the chef that showed the meal was highly satisfying. I'm being serious!
Then there are those who know better from the way they were bought up and it could have slipped out unexpectedly. They could at least said, "Pardon me for being rude" and under their breath say 'It was the food.'
The slobs are the worst with no manners as you describe.
Fortunately for the guests at the dinner table, it was a belch and not gas released elsewhere.

I do not get offended when people belch and do no cover there mouth or excuse themselves. I think it is very rude no matter what gender you are. I think if you are taught manners then you should be able to use manners as well. Its just like a person who had gas and the person does not excuse himself or herself in front of his/her date or family members or anybody else that the person is around it would be better if the person would used manners. If the person did use manners then it shows the person brought themselve up.

I'm with ya on that one Ben. I friend of mine was eating a meal with his family which included his brother in law. The brother in law was sitting next to him chewing his food with his mouth open and making those smacking sounds. My friend was annoyed so much, that without warning,he just reached over and slugged him knocking the in law over backwards in his chair. Boy would I have loved to had seen that.

Yes, I agree.
I went to the library once (to study) and this guy sitting a table away from me kept burping non-stop for like 15 minutes, and everyone kept giving him dirty looks.

I can't say I'm "offended" by it but, it defiantly lowers my opinion of the person. I probably would avoid eating with that person in the future.
I agree that it is rude and disgusting.

Yeah I do. I give them my "disgusted" look. They are really rude and disrespectful. It is one thing to belch. But to do it and not say excuse me.. gross.

yeah that would be a tad bit gross.... burps don't offend me, but one can at least cover their mouth and say 'excuse me.' But heck I'm just glad if my kids don't fart at the table...
