Hi,

I have taken a Tata AIG Maharaksha LIC policy, and canceled that polocy, so they need to return some % of money that I paid for that policy after cancelation of that policy within 7 working days they need to refund that amount. But those people are not returned that amount even if 2 months got completed, When I call them, they are telling we are taken your complaint so within 7 working days you will get that amount. This thing is happening form 2 months.

So I fedup with these people, so I am going to file a case on TATA AIG people.

So, can any one suggest me the procedure to get my money back as early as possible.

What amount of money is involved here? Under $1000 it can be settled in small claims court. More than that and you will need a lawyer to go after them.

First try sending a registered letter with proof of delivery. Make a copy of the letter for your records. In the letter, restate your problem-include your policy number and mention dates of phone calls and who you spoke with. End the letter with "I expect my payment within one week of delivery of this letter. Further legal action will be taken if this matter is not immediately resolved." To be nice, include photocopies of all paperwork you have in the matter and note the date you canceled the policy. Make sure you send the letter to the right place -this would be the corperate headquarters, not the clearing house that processes payments for the policies.

Be patient and give them two weeks to respond-then take them to court. If you go to court, take the original documents, a copy of the letter, and proof of delivery.
