Hi there
I cant understand how anyone could have nothing to do ;-)))
I wish I had 48 hours a day and at least 14 days a week ;-))
you have millions of oportunities to choose from, but I cant tell you what to do . you must think about what you like and your gender and age and economical posibilities.
but if you wish my advice please tell me a little more about yourself and what you like and dislike here in life and we would start from there to get you an nice hobby . I am an 46 yo swedish man with to little time for all my hobbies and interests , Im retired since a few years back because of an whiplash injury from an car accident , today there are some things I cant do but then I will concentate all my effort to what I can do instead . there are always an lightning in the dark .
if you wish you could send me an email to my personal emailaddress : dan610324@hotmail.com
I can understand if you dont want to open you here in public with all your interests ;-))
I can tell you that I have been developing an new hobby this winter , I have been doing a lot of research and study anything I could find about home casting , I will start to cast scale copies of antique bronze cannons and make the carriage in wood and metal exact as the original was made . it will be from the 16 th century and to the 19 th century , an hobby like this are so very complex when it are both teoretical and practical moments involved , it will be some travelling to visit museums and make drawings and take photos for new exiting models , there must be 100 % correct in all measurements , I must build 2 kilns for my use to melt metal and drying the mold , there will probobly be a lot of mistakes in the beginning , but its just to try again and fail better ;-))
hope to hear from you soon
yours sincerely

I have three you might consider. The first is ham radio. Google the American Radio Relay League's homepage to learn more about it.
The other is being a living history reenactor. What do you think of the era of kings and queens and knights errant? Like the thought of dressing up like a mideval lady and dancing with the knights and lords of the royal court? Well, there's a hobby where you do that with other like-minded folks. Google the Society for Creative Anachronism to learn about that.
Or maybe you had an ancestor who served in the army during the American Civil War. How about reenacting that time period? Want to dress up like the women in Gone With The Wind? Hey, we Civil War reenactors go so far as to buy or make our own period clothes, get all dressed up and attend fancy formal balls - and the guys get together and re-create Civil War battles. The ladies portray a variety of civilian roles from that war.
Either of the latter two I mentioned are great ways to meet real cool guys, too! I presumed you're a woman - 'scuse me if I got that part wrong.

My girlfriend likes jigsaw puzzles. We also like board games, and I play a lot of video games. Learning to cook or become a better cook can be pretty rewarding. You can eat better, healthier, and cheaper; and you can entertain for friends & family. Musical instruments and foreign languages also offer a future of rewarding skills.
If you want to get out of the house, you could try any number of outdoor sports and activities. Hiking, kayaking, swimming, YWCA sports leagues etc. Also, volunteering is a way to meet some people with other hobbies, as well as help out others.
Lastly, consider getting a job or a 2nd job while you've got time. Surely you could use some extra money for something...even if it's to finance a new hobby.

First of all, you need to ask yourself what you enjoy doing or would like to learn. You don't want to knock yourself out doing something that you don't like. Do you have an artistic bent? Are you athletic? Like music? Something you could do as a volunteer? (I am a volunteer at a Civil War historic site which I love doing.) Once you determine this, then finding a hobby that you would more likely stick with is easier. Don't discard something just because you don't know how to do it - there are lots of places to take lessons for just about anything (I even learned to fly airplanes!!). Do you have a good friend who has a hobby you might enjoy sharing with him/her?
So start with some soul-searching to determine what you would enjoy, and then go for it!!

I just started sewing. I make my niece dresses and purses. I made myself a shirt and I just finished a small quilt.
Sewing is really fun because it's very rewarding with the end product. You make something useful.
If you don't have a sewing machine, you can pick up a basic model for not very much money. Picking out the pattern and the fabric is also really fun. I love going to the fabric store.
You can start with something basic like a pillow and work your way up from there. There's a lot of information on the internet or books from the library.
Have fun!!

Find something that interests you. Ok, easier said then done.
Check out a Border's or Barnes & Nobles book store. You can read about all kinds of stuff and maybe someday while browsing through a magazine or book you might find something to delve into a little further.

You could do volunteer work. Maybe at a hospital (easy to find) or building houses for the poor.
Or you could join group hikes.
Or you could start building yourself a website that talks about whatever interests you.
Or you could waste your time, like me, on Yahoo Answers.
