I agree with you, the answer is C. Homeostasis is the maintenance of constant internal environment, that is,maintaining the conditions which surrounds cells by making them constant. For example, if the glucose in the blood is too high, the pancreas secretes insulin to convert glucose to glycogen and decreasing the glucose level. Another example is if there is too much CO2 in the blood, the breathing rate increases to remove excess CO2. Hope it helps!

Life without maintenance of homestasis could not exist. Imagine you go outside in the morning and it's 32 degrees. Without homeostasis your body would reduce to that temperature and you would die. Without homeostasis all of the water in your cells would rush out and you would shrivel like a raisin.

Homeostasis is the tendency of an organism to maintain relatively steady state conditions in its body. Negative feedback cycles are used to maintain homeostasis. Therefore, the answer is c. This is the only one in which a condition causes a response that reduces or eliminates the condition (which is the definition of negative feedback). Most of the other answers are just statements. E expresses a stimulus and response, but the effect does not affect the cause.

The correct answer is 'C'. Homeostasis (means staying the same) is the act of the body making adjustments to its physiological processes in order to stay in a stable state.
Another example is: the body temperature is 37 degrees c. If the environment is hot the body temp begins to increase. The body then acts to cool its temperature back to 37 degrees by sweating. If the body temperature begins to cool due to the cold, muscles begin to shiver to create heat to bring the temperature back to normal. I hope this helps
