Actually, my husband wouldn't know how much bread or milk costs either. Rudy probably has his wife doing all his shopping.
What I can't figure out is why people would pay such crazy prices. A $4 gallon of milk in Manhatten?? I pay $5 for two gallons. I didn't know I had it so good.

Because it shows exactly how out of touch that he really is. If someone doesn't know the cost of an item it is because they don't have to pinch pennies and worry about providing food for their kids.
It is crazy that anyone would believe that rich men know what is best for poorer Americans. They don't understand the struggles that poor people see and deal with everyday. It's called structured inequality and the rich men are getting richer and the poor are getting poorer. For middle class and the working poor to sit back and watch allowing it to happen is a travesty.
90% of the US money is controlled by 99% of rich Americans leaving the remaining 1% to fight over the other 10%.
Besides what would you expect from a man whose first wife was his first cousin?

Because it suggests that he is disconnected with the everyday challenges of everyday people. How does someone NOT know what a quart of milk costs? Same thing happened with the first George Bush, who was also completely FASCINATED by bar codes on a visit to a grocery store.
It's news - not hard to figure out why.

Giuliani is a moron. I'm really happy he's not running NYC or any other place. If this nutball runs for office, he will make George W. Bush look like a boyscout.

Because it SHOWS why he's been married 3 times. Each of his Ex's lied to him about the price of groceries- so they could syphon extra $$$ off him... Now it's news- because the poor guy doesn't have a CLUE how much food costs- & he wants to be President! :)

I disagree. I wouldn't pay more than 2 bucks for a gallon of milk or more than a buck for plain white loaf of bread.

Blame the media. I think most of us poor middle-class people understand that the rich elite know what is best for us, even if they don't know the price of a gallon of milk.

Because it qualifies as a "Hit" piece on a Republican presidential candidate. You'll soon start seeing the "Fluff" pieces on Democratic candidates. Its they way they work.
