Wills have to undergo probate, and all beneficiaries come to find out what others as well as themselves are getting if anything. Is there a tool such as a trust that does not need to undergo probate and where nobody can find out the size of estate as well as who the beneficiaries are.

Are laws realted to wills, probate, etc different by state.

All laws relating to the wills & probates are covered under one central Act, i.e. The Indian Succession Act, 1925. If the 'will' is registered, then even before getting it probated one can know the shares of the beneficiaries as it becomes a public document after the registration & in open to inspection by anyone.
