I lost 3 dogs to Ol' ROY recalled crap. The Wal-Mart in my area had the recalled stuff on the shelves a week after it was recalled. I bought some thinking those batches left on the shelves were safe.
1 dog died, at home. I called my vet about the emergency
illness in the others, because I didn't have all of the money up front, the vet refused to treat the other 2 animals. I called 11 other vets in the area with the same results. I finally located one that agreed to see my 2 sick dogs. 150 miles away.
My husband and I drove the dogs up there. 1 died on the way.
The other in the vet waiting room.
That vet said it was likely kidney and liver damage from the recalled crap that caused the animals deaths, but that she'd
have to send out post mortum test samples and sruff to be 100 percent sure.
Their practice didn't have a payment plan for that kind of thing which on even one dog was going to be over $2000.00.
We don't have that kind of money laying around. We don't have any credit cards due to my ex husband messing up my credit. Our friends and family aren't in any financial shape to loan us it, either.
Wal-Mart store where I bought the crap said I'd have to send proof to their headquarters that the dogs died from it....they wanted post mortum tests results done by a vet before they'd do anything about it.
Same thing with the manufacter of the food.
Ditto for the lawyers the I talked to to try sueing both Walmart and food co.
So basicly, since I was in no financial position to have the tests done, there is nothing I can do to pursue punishing the
ones to blame for my loss.
I, personally, also don't have to high an opinion of the vets in my area. Even the one I take my animals to regularly, who has been a friend to me, as well. She swears she became a vet to help animals, not for the money. Yet, her animal hospital charges $150 - $200 an office visit, more for tests
and meds & surgury. She drives a 2006 Jaguar, lives in one of the fanciest homes in the area, sends her children to private boarding schools, etc. etc.
We're only friends sort of cause we were college roommates for a year, long ago.
And, yet, her clinic turned my animals away.
SO, to answer your question, yes Im outraged, but there is not anything I can do about it.

YES!!! I have lost a dog and a cat, with another cat being treated at the vet's now. I thought the products I was buying were made in the USA. Don't we grow wheat here? I am all for boycotting any brands that import Chinese wheat gluten. What an awful feeling to know I gave my babies poisoned food!

None of my pets died but I still feel outraged over it. Why does our country need to buy crap grain from any foreign country. We do grow it here. I know the answer, because it is probably cheaper to buy than to grow.
Something should be done, but what. First its our produce that is poison and now our pets food. My grocery store also had the bad stuff on the shelves for days after it was announced. What is going on around our country anyway. This is serious because it could have been something else. Like bread or baby food, cereal, who knows.

I cant believe your dog died eating bad dog treats thats horrible...Im shocked. You can sue the company who distributes OL Roy biscuits you know in a civil lawsuit. criminal negligence. I would definitely boycott all chinese products...its gross and disgusting. I am really outraged too and absolutely horrified! The poor dog didn't know about the poison in the food eh? Poor thing. I am very, very sorry for your loss. I'd take them to court and sue them.

I am outraged too my dog died from lack of vet,I tried and tried all said the same thing, not without money up front.I don't know what we can do about vets not being the doctors they ciam to be because I now have little faith in them although it is all you can do for your animal. The other thing we can do something about the wal-marts in my area, there are 3,none of them pulled the tainted food for 3 days that I know about,so yes I am boycotting them.wheat gluten is also in bread and can we trust that??Buy tortillas none in it.I am personally sick of having to educate myself over every little thing that's what the people in charge get paid for and I say its time they did their jobs right or get fired. They surely not hurting anymore than I am,every time I have to make a new adjustment its one more thing I have to do without.

I feel awful for all the dogs and cats that suffered like they did. I honestly feel that all the owners need to pursue lawsuits REGARDLESS of short term financial cost. There are many resources out there and legal action can be taken to have these companies reimburse you for your loss, but owners need to step-up, get the tests done and gather whatever other proof is needed. Additionally, for future reference, all pet owners should keep money stored in an emergency fund for their pet in the case of illness. If you don't have money saved, there are programs like CareCredit that will help you and your pet.

I feel so bad for all the pet owners that lost their pets because of this crap. I have cats and I watch everything that they eat. I only give them purina which is not on the list. You don't need to put wheat gluten in the food anyway! they need to get the class action law suit going.

I'm so sorry to anyone who lost their pet(s)...it is awful!! I am an animal lover and it saddens me to know that lots of animals passed on due to this tragedy that should have never happened. I could not imagine losing my precious hamster or my baby cockatiels to something that could have been prevented. The only way that ANY animal should pass is by natural cause, because God says its time. Again, very sorry for your loss(es).

We should just make all of our own stuff right here in the U.S. like we used to. we can't trust anyone other than ourselves anymore. especially the asians. they're too clever for thier own good. We should sue the companies for everything they're worth, and get off our lazy asses and do some work for ourselves. USA USA USA!!!
