OH PLEZZZ !!!
Do tell me what those prisoners went through that has not been surpassed in quantum leaps by the treatment of our soldiers?
This is war. Do you get that? Show proof that any of those ppl were beheaded on camera (cause we wouldn't want to miss a chance to hurt their families more!) and that is just ONE for instance I could give you.

Tip number one: Don't use big words if you can't use them properly or even spell them correctly. The word is "anathema" and it means something to be detested. So is it something to be detested for what the US stand for? That's very akward wording.

I'll assume that you mean the terrorist holdings at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, and that your question is essentially whether or not its presence is representative of the values of this country. Am I getting this?

So now to answering the question. I think the Guantanamo Bay detention facilities are very representative of this country's role and presence in the world. Once again the responsibility has falled on this country to take care of the world's problems. The home countries of the slime being detained there don't want them back. They are being treated better than they probably deserve there, as hostile enemies of the terror war on the western world who would gladly slit the throat of your grandmother if it served their political goals. So is the existence of the detention facility at Guantanamo Bay anathema? I'd say only for the the unfortunate US service men and women who are stationed there watching over the scum it houses. The presence of the prison is quite befitting of those housed there.

Guantanamo Bay is a breach of Human rights no matter how people try to justify it and if it isn't why is there no Americans terrorists in there like John Walker you think the rest of the world doesn't take note of that fact.
Rumezzo if there was one American locked up without a trial for 5yrs and presumed to be a terrorist before being proven one we would here all the whinging and complaining all over the world it has always amazed me why Americans think they are above every other citizen of the world. One thing about Iran at least they did not ignore the Geneva convention so who is the civilized and just country.

Well, think about it; this is supposed to be a country of "laws". To "get around" this "inconvenient fact"- our Government sets up prisons OUTSIDE of our borders where our laws don't apply. -So they can treat prisoners ANY WAY they want, for as LONG as they want. So YOU tell ME, what "is" Guantanamo, and how much should we trust our Govenment to go by the "rules" it creates & we have to live by ? :(
