Okay...so I am adding a line on a Cingular plan...the current phones are not so great to me. Can I buy a phone, say off ebay (unlocked), and use that when I add on a line?

Thanks!

(And please, no "Cingular sucks". I would rather pay 9.99 a month than 40.)

Yes you can. I had an old phone when I added another line to my Cingular account. They only gave me the SIM card. Good Luck.

If you plan to add another line to your existing Cingular account, you will need to purchase either a new phone or if you don't like the selection of phones by Cingular you can always buy a unlocked phone from ebay. The only requirement is that the unlocked phone has to be GSM and have a sim card slot on the back of the phone.

Another thing is that if you buy a unlocked phone from ebay, you will need to buy also a sim card from Cingular for your 2nd phone. Plus Cingular might charge you for activation fee for that phone.

You can buy a phone off of ebay, but you've got to make sure that Cingular supports the Make and Model of the phone before you buy it.

Well anything on e-bay would be safer..but sometime you can get a bad..person.I have a friend who son is into e-bay and I need for him to help me over the weekend and his mother didn't get back to me..she had all the excuses she could come up with..so I did find another cell phone on the net and the same one my hubby just lost and got it hooked up and everything..You can get anything of e-bay..but be careful..your best bet is have a friend who has been in e-bay for a few years and know there way around on the pros and cons..this will help as well
