The 90's are awesome coz that's when the shift from pop/rock to alternative music was happening. Great bands (new or old) sick of the 80's Michael Jacksons, big hair rock bands, and pop groups, unleashed new sounds and experiment new things.

Think of all the great music made in 90's such as Blur, Prodigy, Soundgarden, Oasis, Nirvana, Radiohead, Silverchair, Bjork, Metallica, Chemical Brothers, The Verve, etc. They put out great albums during this period. You also get smaller acts coming out with great singles such as Sneaker Pimps, Cast, Pulp, Moby.

The notable music in year 2000 onwards that I personally like are acts such as Creed, Green Day, Coldplay, Keane and Linkin Park; they offer something fresh.

To each, their own generation. I guess this is how my father feels when he hears "Smoke on the Water" by Deep Purple vs Bon Jovi's "Living on a Prayer".

Those are some of the best years in music history. The bands you mention are all part of a great period in rock and roll. Unfortunately, the late 90's to the present have turned into regurgitated garbage where nearly every song and every band sound EXACTLY the same. There's very little out there to choose from anymore.

Yep. That was my era for music. I was a teenager then. I turned 13 in 1993 and graduated high school in 1998. Those were the prime years for music for me.

From 1986 on the pop music scene sucked. The underground music was serious happening and I'm finding this stuff 10 years later. Once you go underground, pop music will always suck.

Still stuck in the late 90's, songs are more memorable have more meaning than those basically one-hit wonders of today, I mean there are ALOT of them.
