Yes, I do remember time-out and spankings. I agree spankings were very effective. I think we children were better because of it. It needs to be brought back.

I remember spankings, parents didn't use time-outs, it was the 60's. I do remember being grounded though.
Spent more time in my room than I did outside.

Oh, the spankings really made me nervous. I remember the terror I felt before I knew I was going to "get it". But once it was over, it was not that bad. "Attitude adjustment" worked better than time-outs!

We as parents are afraid to spank our kids because we will have the police or child protective service called on us. This is the reason kids are so disrespectful today.

Spanking is a nice name for it...but i got cans of whoop a** opened on me...and i would have been so grateful to know what is time out back then!...whoop a** makes me the well rounded person i am today!i have no regrets.
