Usually the staple diet is flakes, pellets or sticks from a pet shop. Which one depends on the type of fish you are keeping. Other foods include live foods you can buy or collect, frozen and freeze dried foods again from the pet store.

You should look for any food that states that it is made for Bettas, since that is more of a formal name for fighting fishes and ornamental fishes.

They need to have a veried diet. I feed mine, hikari pellets, freeze dried blood worms and frozen brine shrimp.
