The equation I have to work with is
y= -3x + 3/2
I know about the rise and the run, but 2 is NOT the run, is it? Don't the rise and run have to be paired with a variable? From my understanding, there is a number 1 under the -3x and THAT is the run. Yet, if this is correct, then how do I find the slope of the line if there is a fraction that is not part of the rise/run deal? Help me, I'm so confused!

The slope is -3. The formula for a linear equation is y=mx+b. So, the m is the slope and the b is the y intercept. (The way you are talking about it, it would be -3/1 or 3/-1 but both are the same thing when you graph)

Remember something, the basic form of a linear function is this: y = Ax + b
a is the slope, x is the value you place to find Y, and b is the intersection point (when the line "cuts" the Y axe)
So, in your problem the slope would be -3 and the intersection point is 3/2
Since the slope is negative, the direction of your line is from nor west (up left) to southeast (down right)

Almost all line equations come out in the form: y = mx + b. In this equation, m is the slope of the line and b is the y-axis intercept. Therefore, the slope of the line in y = -3x + 3/2 is -3.

Ok, I just had this about a week ago. First, you have to change 3/4 into proper fraction that's 1 1/2. So put the dot in between 1 and 2. Then, go 3 down and 1 to the left. Lastly, connect your dots. I hope I was a help.

in this case your slope is a whole number, so its not a fraction... but if you want to write it as a fraction, it would simply be -3/1 . Why? because any number divided by one is itself... so -3/1 is -3. For every 3 units you move down, you move to the right one unit.

for y=mx+b
m=slope
b=y-intercept
in that case, 3/2 is the y intercept and you have a slope of -3/1. That is, -3 spaces on the y and positive one spaces on the x.

Linear equation
y= mx+b
y= final value
m= slope
x= variable
b= y intercept.
The slope is -3 y=-3x+b, m=-3
