At the end of WWI, the conquering Nations (but not the USA) demanded reparations from Germany which created oppressive conditions that gave rise to civil discourse within Germany with the ultimate result that Adolf Hitler rose to power and defied the Treaty of Versaille.
After WWII, the Allied Powers helped to rebuild Germany, dividing the responsibilities. We did the same with Japan.
Without going into this any further, the mistakes of WWI were replaced by programs of rebuilding rather than repression.

It didn't. Almost immediately following WWII, we were plunged into long-term hostilities with the Soviet Union. But there was not a major U.S. military effort until the 1950's. This was the result of the development of the atomic bomb. Once it was dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, everyone realized how horrible they were and that there were no real winners when nuclear war was used. So, the policy of containment was developed to prolong peace while keeping communism at bay. Both nations had enough nuclear weapons to assure that MAD occured. MAD is mutually assured destruction. Neither nation wanted to use it.

It didn't. The only difference between the WWI and WWII is that what J.M. Keynes recommended after WWI (aid to Germany rather than reparations and contributions, loans to all countries that needed them, regardless of which side they were on during the war, common market, etc.) was actually implemented after WWII.

More lasting peace..your kidding right...Less than a decade later it was war with Korea, Berlin, then the "Cold War", Viet Nam and so on. There is, and always will be hot spots. That
seems to be mans nature. Why cant all live in peace and have democracy?

the mushroom clouds over Hiroshima proved the greatest deterrent to another World War....the thought of global suicide kept the countries at peace....at least to the extent of not having another world war. Regional wars between and with rump states is what we're stuck with....

Similarities no longer many, the in elementary words 2 i will imagine of the position both pushed the envelope on technologies, first global warfare repeating Rifles lighter device guns the style of the tank, airplane after the warfare flew larger the position swifter and the position a lot extra solid, autos the position in a lot wider use, tanks the position in basic terms being better. contained in the 2d global warfare jet the position better, tanks the position a lot extra father alongside, (evaluate the British Crusader tank used contained in the starting up of the warfare to the Churchill used on the proper of the warfare), Radar replaced into better, firearms technologies replaced right into a lot extra better.

I think the fear of nuclear annihilation created the illusion of peace, but in reality we have been and remain at war all the time..
