I'm sure that anything I like is way too old for you. Just go with whatever you're the most comfortable with.
And good luck.

while you're fairly gifted, i might advise "I even have not something (If i don't have you ever)" initially sung via Whitney Houston. you are able to decrease it slightly shorter via omitting a verse in case you like, however the music has particularly some vocal beneficial factors that would desire to teach of your skills while you're experienced: a large vocal variety with a large climatic "severe notice"; a key modulation; and a few large emotion. Do it fairly top, and you will not have a dry eye in the abode. Oh, yet once you at the instant are not experienced, you're able to in all probability dodge this music, as you're able to make an purpose industry cry for all the incorrect motives in case you do it badly, too.... ;D LoL reliable luck, regardless of you go with. :)

WOW, okay, i listened to Not Pretty Enough, and you are right, there are better songs. And in my opinion, there are better fatal diseases than that horrible song. However, I know the pressures of choosing a song for a talent show. The song you choose has to be for one of two reasons-
1) It has good vocal range and displays the best of your voice in the best way.
OR
2) It is a song that you are comfortable with and fell totally confident to hit every note and enjoy the music.
It depends on which you want to coose. You should probably choose a genre of song that you want to work with first, whether it be R&B or country, and try to find that one special song for you. I'm not really sure what your style is after that poor excuse for a song, but listen to this one and see if you like it.

I know it's not the best to hear the whole song, but it will be enought to see if you like it

If you'll be singing to a karaoke track, you might consider some short songs from decades ago if you're worried about what to do during instrumental portions.
