Since his lucky, playoff wins when he took over for Bledsoe. Since he was given the gift by the refs. in the snow bowl game (my God, it was a FUMBLE) and since Vinateri has saved his butt in all of the Super Bowls and many playoff games and since he has had an all-star cast of teammates, he has been given this title and praise. He is a very, very average QB that just takes advantage of the situation he is in. Look at last year, and every QB can say they were just a few catches away from many wins, regular season or playoffs. I am sick of Tom Brady. Let's see what he does this year, let's see!

To comment on what a few of you are already saying. 20 years from now, people will realize that Vinateri was the best clutch kicker for a very good team. I will give Brady some credit, but he is not the greatest and there are numerous better QB's than him, past and present.

This is great!!! I love reading this stuff, we all have opinions. Oh, and Terry Bradshaw has said that Tom Brady is the best of all time. I couldn't believe it, since he was better than Tom Brady after only putting on the jock strap. Heh, heh, heh!!! Bring it on Pats fans, enter everyone else's world!!!

This has been hilarious people. I am not saying that Vinateri was the sole reason for the victories either. I have been watching football for over 30 years and know more about the game than most of you have been alive. Lots of you all have some good valid points and regardless of who you all root for, you all are proving my point. Brady is NOT that good, let alone the best of ALL TIME. Bring some more, we are all being enlightened, I know I am.

You know I am SOOOOO sick of hearing about him I don't even want to answer this question.
All I have to say this: There is a Brady in every field of entertainment. Be it sports, movies, music, television etc... You all know what I mean. If I need to elaborate you wouldn't get it anyway. Let me some it up in one sentence.
Tom Brady is the Sanjaya of Pro Football. Nuff Said!
Let's use the Law of Attraction to our advantage and stop talking and thinking about him all together and maybe, just maybe, he will fade away. Same goes for Sanjaya, however, that's another question and answer session.

Someone on page one said something about Brady juking around Urlacher and making him "break his ankles"...
Thats such BS!! Urlacher woulda lit him up SO bad if he was a running back or WR... he didn't wanna hit him cuz he was afraid Brady would slide, and then he would get a 15yd roughing the passer penalty. So he played it lightly, and got burned. Stupid NFL "can't even look at the QB funny or you get flagged".
Anyhow, Brady is a great QB. A leader, and a great touch passer. Doesn't quite have the arm strength, but there are a lot of guys who can throw the ball 60 yards, yet can't hit a wide open receiver (*ahem* Vick *ahem*).
I have him sitting at #2 of all time, right behind Montana, if he plays another 6 years or more. He won 3 Super Bowls.. like it or not, that's a dubious acchievement. He'll probably get at least one more. Good QB's find ways to win, and he does that routinely.
If ya wanna see a crummy QB, tune into a Lions game. We haven't had a decent guy behind center for almost 50 yrs!
Oh, and to the girl who was sick of announcers "verbally fellating" Brady, I know just how u feel! My team plays the golden boy, Brett Favre, twice a year, so I get to hear Joe Random-Announcer-Guy talk about how great Fart Barf is, even though he hasn't done anything impressive in the last 3-4 seasons. Hate it!

Brady is not the best in the league now, let alone the best ever. He can manage a game, but basically his running game bails him out. He doesn't need to pass very much in his offense, so when he does, everyone is like,"Oh Tom, you're so great." give me a break.
With some of the logic in these answers, Bradshaw would be the best QB ever. He won 4 SBs. Can you just get off the Brady bandwagon, and admit if he was on a team where there is a bad running game, like Minnesota, he'd be crap.

I think Brady is a good QB but has been really lucky! He even knew it was a fumble. When asked about it he even smiled and you could tell by the look on his face he knew he fumbled the ball. I agree that without Adam Vinateri the patriots wouldn't have the championships they have. He is on a very well coached team too. Any decent player can look good if placed in the right situation. I am tired of hearing that he is the best out there and could be the best ever. I am sorry but to me he is not in the category to be the greatest.

He's without a doubt in the top 5 as of right now, with Montana at the top. If the Pats win this Super Bowl I think you put him right at the top with Montana. You have to remember that Montana won his Super Bowls with the greatest wide receiver in the history of the game. Brady has done it with relative nobodies until this season, this year you got to see the full extent of Brady's talent with Moss and Welker to throw too. Imagine the kind of numbers he'd have if had Moss as long as Montana had Rice, or Peyton had Marvin Harrison. Ultimately he will go down as the best ever, this is only his 7th season and as long as he stays healthy 5-7 Super Bowl wins is not out of the question. Montana Elway Brady Favre Aikman

I definitely don't think that Brady is anything close to the best QB ever, but I don't think you're giving him is due credit. According to you, it's all luck. Have you considered how improbable it is that he would just get lucky enough to win playoff game after playoff game after playoff game after playoff game? Well, he won 10 straight playoff games at one point, and the odds of him winning that many by luck are 1 in 1024. He's a good QB on a good team. Not the best ever, but he has demonstrated over and over again that he is able to do JUST ENOUGH to scrape out a win.

I doubt that you're as sick of hearing it as I am. I live in New England where half of these people couldn't tell you what the difference is between a hitch route and a trailer hitch.
The fact is that Brady was damn lucky in the Super Bowl against the Rams and proof positive that the powers that be prefer to give MVP awards to QBs and RBs instead of players who actually deserve it since the MVP of that game was 11 for 20 for 92 yards before the final drive and then went 5 of 7 doing nothing but throwing the ball underneath a prevent defense.
I also love the excuses that come out of the woodwork when he has an off game (like he did in Week 14 against the Dolphins) and the absolutely inability to admit the fact that he threw game ending INTs in each of his last two playoff games this year.
All that said, he's a good QB who is very accurate but he's not the best ever. Let's see how he does this year (I'm guessing that he'll do OK), but I doubt he'll ever hoist another Lombardi Trophy over his head again.

I am a Seahawks fan and I had to live through the agonizing rants about Elway being the greatest QB of all time. Elway is great. So is Brady. They both have been to multiple Super Bowls and won more than one. Elway went to FIVE Super Bowls and only won two. Brady has been to three and won three. The torch has been taken.

I agree. Brady is a very solid QB, but it would be outrageous to compare him to Unitas, Marino, Fouts etc.
He gets the attention he does because of the Pats' Super Bowl titles, but he was not by any means the reason they won. The Patriots were truly a "team", without superstars or anyone spectacular. Everyone just did their job, and that team had no noticeable weaknesses.
But it seems like the QB is almost always the one who gets the most attention, the media helps with that.
