I've heard of this but i am not to sure on it. It almost sounds a little twisted on the site -- kinda like the biblical story where those denying the mark of the beast won't be able to even get food.

Your source is a tad bit whacked out of proportion... The Real ID act does not give the federal government anywhere the right to issue ID cards, driver licenses, etc. are still the responsibility of the state. The act actually only sets standards states must comply with for the cards to be valid... So, there is no widespread panic about the cards, yet, since it isnt really a physical national ID. Besides, google it, the card was in the news, back whent he act was passed in 2005-06, and there is no may 2008 requirement.

If you do the below web search, you may find the answers there! They want to make sure you are who you are...Most Deaprtment of Motor Vehicles are a wreck already with Identity theft. virginia #1, Nevada is Number 2 on the Bad list for Identity theft, followed very closely by Illinois, California!

States have actually not been going along with the national law, and the Federeal Government isn't going to push too hard because there is a large amount of opposition. I do know that a few states have taken it to the courts, I believe California being one of them.

i don't know about hd TV, the ID card will not be required they changed that rule, but you will be required to have one before you can use any government service or enter any type of government building.
