iPods are just a name brand for an mp3 player. iPods are very simple to use, and are very well made. Many people get cheaper mp3 players, but they do not have the customer support that the iPod has fom Apple. iPods have been around a long time, and most of the glitches are worked out of them. They are just better quality than other generic mp3 players. They are, however, also more expensive. So, generic mp3 players are cheaper, but iPods have a lot more backup, and are simpler, and have great customer support....

Ipod is a a device by which you may play Mp3 files or music .. Mp3 is a music format that is compressed to the best possible reproduction of music using the smallest file possible
There are lots of good mp3 players besides ipod though ..
I pod might be one of the most popular .. Zine was just brought out by Microsoft ..its by no means the cheapest and so far the tech support had been terrible ..
Creative makes some decent players. at a reasonable price .. and creative have been ,making audio and video products for a while now and have a good reputation with decent support ..
Iriver , RCA , many others make MP3 players..
Its going to depend on what you want .. how much room you want and whether you want video with that...
My Pick is Creative Zen ..they sound good and are fairly reliable .. and I have had many Ipods over the years ....

iPods only advantage is that is works with iTunes. But it can play MP3s as well.
MP3 players range in style, design and features. I tend to go with the ones that take a conventional AAA battery as I use my MP3 while travelling and don't always have the chance to recharge it.
Some of the new MP3 players are ultra small and take micro SD cards, so that you can have a huge range of music with you.
The classic iPod using a hard drive, and there are many iPod copies available.
Also think about whether you want to match video as well. As there are also many MP4 (video players) available as well.
Personally, my next MP3/MP4 player will be a mobile phone. When I upgrade my old phone I will buy one that has built in MP3/MP4 ability.

Both mp3 player and i pod are good but i like mp3 player better especially samsung.
i had one that was cheap but it had a good size screen and memory played all types of music files and played videos also came with radio and the ability to record while listening on the radio let u put documents and pictures on it and last but not least had games and allowed you to add more memory to it only for ................. $150.00 great deal however i lost mine and now mad since they dont sell it anymore(except on their website) but now they have a mp3 player than can play through the head phones or built in speaker and its about the size of a motorola razor and has a cool design. So my point is or in my opinion there are mp3 player better than some ipods or just as good but u got to look for them.

I actually have both, and that i have music on my Blackberry, in spite of the indisputable fact that it ought to easily carry a lot. I surely have never used my telephone as an mp3, i only use to make the songs my ringtones. Get the ipod, honestly.

iPods make you buy every song you put on them. Most people revert to stealing music, but there's a new trend in MP3 players that iPods don't do. 'Renting' music. Think of it like Netflix. You get millions of songs for one low price. Think of all the albums you've bought. How many do you listen to? Think of movies, do you rent or buy? Why? Renting is making it's way out there. Unfortunately, Apple says it will never offer a service like that, which makes MP3 players better. I will never have to buy a song again. For the price of a CD per month, I get millions of songs at my fingertips. I used to buy a CD per month anyway so it's a great deal! Check it out at these sites:
