I had a Margaritaville Party, nothing but surf/island tunes. Hawaiian attire required, leis, strawhats, etc. Decorations are easy to get from Party City or Oriental Trading company. Borrow blenders from friends and neighbors, make all kinds of margaritas. We got food from a Phillipine restaurant, fried fish and shrimp, lumpia, pansit and so on. The party lasted for hours! everybody had a blast. Do the limbo! Have a hula hoop contest! Sounds silly, but it was a great party. My wife planned it and carried it off perfectly.
Oh, and Happy Birthday!

My wife and her friends have had some crazy parties back in LA ... some of their themes have been Famous Pimps & hoes exp. (Pres Cliton, Monica Lawinsky, Nirvana Guys Wife) The Queens & Queens Party sounded very funny too. Woman try their best to look like A Queen and men try their best to walk in high heels and a wig :). Hmmm 30, 30 ...Devils and Angels might be a little cliche but Gothlic from the early 90's, Best Hair Band Look A Like Party, Or perhaps your best Stripper Uniform - guys dressed as firemen and police officers - woman dressed as firemen and police officers :) could be like a safe sex party LOL.

Do a "Tourist Theme." You can have everyone dress in vacation clothes and you can buy some of the disposable cameras and leave them on the tables. Let everyone point and click some great pictures for your album. Make sure to suggest: Wild Hawaiian shirts, sunglasses, floppy hats, shorts, sandals, etc. so everyone will get the idea. Have fun! And Happy Birthday!

I hope this not too cutsie....Pirates! I love pirates. And with the movies out and all, it could be a crowd pleaser. I bet you could get some cool pirate props from kids sections in toys, and from thrift stores leftover halloween stuff.
