If Iraq had WMDs would that have justified this war?

At the time the war started, the people who opposed it thought Iraq did have WMDs, but did not think that justified an attack.

No, because Saddam would also have had to show a willingness to use those arms against us or our allies (though he did launch a few Scuds at Isreal). If we DID take the WMD's as justification, then we would be morally obligated to invade every country that possesses WMD's who is not our ally.

For years we preached that a nuclear deternet is necessary for peace... and it seems we were right!! If Iraq had WMDs then we would never attack it.

Most likely it would come down to person's opinion of the war: Those for it would surly be getting ready to make Bush another glowing vegetation. Those against would wonder why we gave them to him, and let him buy just about everything he wanted.
This person could never understand rational used to clam person sitting on huge gold mine would risk loosing it all.

Not in the eyes of the people that were happy when none were found. They would just have used some other argument and felt just as self riotous no matter how many genocide graves or nerve agents were found. It's got to feel pretty good to never be wrong........(all you have to do is change what you "feel", then you're right again!)
