Its true that it has been done and it's true that it's easy...for a saltwater fish. You would have better luck with discus IMO. Here's the rest of the page paintedrain2 was copying from:

Yes it is true. It's also better be buy 5-6 of the same kind so the natural selection is better. Make sure you buy them when they're young so they are sexless when you get them. The dominant one will turn into a female. Next biggest will be the breeding male and the rest remain sexless.

Once you have success with breeding, you can sell the smaller ones back to the store. You may want to get rid of the smallest one maybe once every other month. Damsels are very aggressive fish so make sure you introduce them all at the same time, and have enough space for each one to hide/sleep.

If you buy young fish, expect to wait a year before they are mature enough for breeding. Another option would be to buy a mated pair that has been breeding already. This is more expensive up front, but you wouldn't have to wait.

Breeding has been accomplished in home aquaria. One or more females will mate with a male, and eggs will be deposited on the substrate near some form of cover. The male will care for the eggs until they hatch after several days, after which the larvae will enter the planktonic stage in the water column.
