I think Rumsfeld thought the way he handled things, was right. I think he didn't really know what he was doing. I think he wasn't experienced as much as he should have been. I think he knows politics better. Rumsfeld was really fired because of his unpopularity, however, and also not doing his job well enough. I am thinking for the long run, it was best that Bush fired him. Rumsfeld seemed to me like a good man, but just couldn't complete his tasks correctly, rather like the president of the Confederacy, Jefferson Davis. He had good ideas, and the love of country necessary to be a leader, but just couldn't get the job done.

Donald Rumsfeld is the Best Secretary of Defense in the history of the United States of America and President George W. Bush did not make the right decision to let Rumsfeld go because Rumsfeld was AWESOME and he was also THE MAN.

Rumsfeld was a failure to an extent, but his firing/resignation came as an olive branch to the newly elected Democratic Party ran congress.

And then some people had the nerve to say that he doesn't want to work with the other side of the aisle.

It's a known known that Rumsfeld mishandled the Iraq invasion due to incompetency or lack of experience. It's an unknown unknown why he resigned though.

you're forgetting that between his first fact and Rumsfeld's resignation there replaced into some thing said as an ELECTION in which the President's celebration lost power contained in the residing house and Senate. i ought to assert it really is an adventure sufficient that would have made Bush reassess issues.

Rumsfeld is just one third of the evil triumvirate: Bush and Cheney are the other two-thirds. All three are incompetent stooges who should be tried for high crimes against humanity, and - if convicted - should hang, just as they arranged for the hanging of Saddam Hussein. They are evil, corrupt, greedy cretins. -RKO- 04/10/07

For some reason facts don't seem to matter to you.

Rumsfeld was not a failure and bush did not fire him. So what is your point?

bush didnt fire him but....

bush is a failure (no one bother argueing against me ok...) which makes anyone who accepts to work with him a failure.....which proves our troops in iraq are not failing because they dont accept working with bush.....they are FORCED which is why they are called the ARM FORCES which litterally means the arm of bush forces the armed forces into doing what he wants. =)
