My husband doesn't give me roses anymore. He buys me some other kind of flower that I can keep for a while. Roses just die off after a few days, but I can keep a potted flower for a while, I can also plant it in my yard.

A complete lack of imagination. I personally would rather receive a planted hyacinth or a huge lily of the valley bouquet. Or anything else. Just not roses, especially NOT on Valentine's Day.

Because they don't know we like other kinds of flowers too. Anything other than roses requires too much thinking.

I've done that before. But I like giving her different color roses. Each color to me means something. Sometimes I like giving her flowers. I like the exotic rare ones to give her. Peace! Every guy is different.

On really special occasions my husband sends me yellow roses. But just to say I love you every now and then, he gets me mixed flowers.But I love yellow roses and I know that's why he buys them for me.

I totally agree.red roses signify love,i think,so maybe that's why.personally,i don't like red roses at all,,too commercialized...hey,,good question tho!

Red Roses are thought to convey the feeling of "Love".
Just think how you would feel if someone gave you brown dandelions! :-(
