I have hazel eyes as well. A cool thing about hazel eyes is you can wear different colours and they (your eyes) will look different as well! Shadow is definitely fun, play around with it...but as you said you don't want much makeup...try mascara to softly stand out, for a little more drama (still barely anything though) wear a natural liner...I love bronze colours. As other people mentioned, the age-old trick to stand out is a highlighter...peach or pink shadow on the lid, peach in the inner corners, a white highlighter on your inner rims (or just try under the lashes, it took me a while to work up the courage to liner my inner rims)...remember, dark colours make your eyes recede, light colours make them pop out.
Good luck!

i have very light brown eyes. i can make them stand out and almost make them look hazel. I always make sure i get the blackest mascara and use black eyeliner on both the top and bottom lids. Also, doing the smokey look helps a lot!!!

a sheer shimmery pink-ish shadow will really help your eyes to catch the light. it doesn't really look like your are wearing makeup. I also never leave home w/o mascara. you can apply it so it looks like you just have long lashes and big open eyes. I have hazel eyes as well. and to bring out the green, purple works great.

Good earth tone colors, such as a medium green eye shadow, or a brown eyes shadow, with light mascara on the top lashes

Tone down the rest of your makeup, and play up the eyes. Mascara's the simplest way to make them pop, but all the other suggestions look good too!

Use eyeliner on the bottom corners of your eyes and use a white liner or light colored powder on the inner corners and go with a light pink shadow towards your brow line.
